KISD Community Flyer for Rice University Center for STEM Engagement K–12 Summer Camps hosted at Lone Star College–University Park. One-week summer programs for students in grades 3–9 (2025–2026 school year). STEAM-UP (grades 3–6) focuses on creative STEAM exploration, and Spark Academy (grades 7–9) focuses on energy, sustainability, and emerging technologies. Students participate in hands-on projects, build problem-solving and teamwork skills, explore STEM careers, and experience college campus environments.
Camp dates: Week A (June 1–4), Week B (June 8–11), and Week C (June 22–25). Cost is $399. Students must bring lunch, snacks, and a water bottle daily.

Good Sunday afternoon,

We hope everyone had a Brilliant weekend! We are excited to see our Broncos tomorrow as we continue our work as Brilliantly Inspired Leaders and Learners through our Bronco 5 in quarter four!

This week our 3rd through 5th grade Broncos will take their Math STAAR on Tuesday. Our Broncos are doing a great job showing all that they have learned this year! On Thursday, our Pre-K through 1st grade will have a visit from the local Fire Station and get to hear from the Firefighters and visit their Fire Truck! Finally, this Friday is our Field Day. We are closely monitoring the weather and will let everyone know by mid-week if we are able to be outside for the full day or will need to do a half day one inside due to the rain. The RSVP form for the event can also be found below on the invite.

This newsletter also contains many save the dates and information for all of our events coming up in May including Field Day, Award Ceremonies, and more! More specific event information will continue to come out in take home folders and emails as the events get closer.

We want to thank all of our families for their continued partnership as we work together to support our students. In light of recent events, we want to continue to remind all Brill guests of our visitor procedures when coming onto campus. We appreciate your partnership so much! This Saturday is also Klein's GermanFest and we will have a special performance by our 3rd grade Broncos if you are able to attend this fun event!

As our Broncos begin taking STAAR and end of the year assessments, we will be closing the campus to visitors from April 13th through April 30th to help create a quiet learning environment for our students. This is also a four day week for students as we will have a student holiday/teacher workday this Friday.

We hope everyone had a Brilliant weekend and Happy Easter to those that celebrate! We are excited to see our Broncos tomorrow as we continue our work as Brilliantly Inspired Leaders and Learners through our Bronco 5 in quarter four!

This week we will continue to focus on learning as we countdown the days to end of the year testing which begins next week with our Reading STAAR. It is important that all of our Broncos are in attendance each and everyday as they continue to grow as leaders and learners. This is also the last week in April for lunch guest visitors before the campus is closed for the next three weeks for testing.

This week we will also conclude our Gallop prizes with the pizza lunch, pie the teacher, and Ms. Hodge turning her hair blue! We also want to cheer on our DI team who are heading to the State DI competition this weekend! We know y'all are going to do great!
